In the Qur’an, Allah specified only eight categories of people that Zakat of Wealth (Maal) can be given to and not to anyone else. These are mentioned in Surah Tawbah verse 60 of the Qur’an.

Category 7: Fi-Sabilillah (In the Path of Allah)

Great Scholars such as Sh Ibn Baz and many others mentioned that Category 7 Fi-Sabilillah in some Muslim Minority nations with desperate Iman needs includes giving zakat money for the purpose of fi-sabilillah which is to worship Allah, by spreading ilm (knowledge) and piety (taqwa) via desperately needed means to spread Islamic knowledge and piety.

Moreover, as we learn from the Qur’an, one of the main causes of poverty sometimes is sinfulness whereas piety removes poverty in many cases.

Hence, if you want us to distribute your Zakat money for this category, please write in your bank transfer Reference: Zakat Sabilillah.

Category 1&2: Poor & Destitute
